And what if?

I do not know if you are the kind of person that tends to think about: what would happen if you had changed something in your life? But I am that kind of person. In the past, I used to think much more about those "possible" scenarios than now. Anything could be a perfect situation to overthink and make a mess in my mind, but as time goes by, you realized what is important and worth to think about. That does not mean we just forget our past because it helps us to improve. It was very common for me to think about the consequences of doing or not doing certain things, for example, What if you had decided not to talk with anyone that day when you do not feel very well? Would you  have ever met that wonderful person that cheered up your day? Well, I think that we will never know the answers to all the questions that our mind can create, but before we start worrying about a situation that never happened and let these thoughts overwhelm our minds, we should start enjoying o...

"Truth and Beauty"

The things that Ann Patchett had to deal with shouldn't have been easy, not everyone would have defended their work the same way she did. Her book "Truth and Beauty" is not an ordinary work, she wants to memorialize her friend with it. I think this is one of the reasons why she defended it so strongly, another reason was that she was defending free will, this way, everyone can decide what they want or do not want to do to improve their general knowledge and be more critical. Maybe I couldn’t defend better my job if I was in her shoes but I admire her determination. Also, I believe that hiding things from people to “protect them” is never the answer, first, they have to be exposed to the information and then they will be able to decide if the thing is good or not for them.

Why?

Why do we choose certain things and not others? It is a question that it is not quite clear. I think every important decision we took is a result of several choices that carry us on a certain path and as time go by during our life we start to take more choices on our own, and each one more important than before. For example at the beginning of our life are our parents who take all the decisions and as  we grow up we start taking little decisions like "What do I want to use today?" "What do I want to do in my break?" this way we continue maturing. One thing that for me, in the beginning, was not a choice was to learn other languages. In the elementary school, in Mexico, at first grade, we started to learn  English, since   then  and for all my entire life I realized that the English  for me  was difficult; in the third grade we started to learn French too , and I have to say that I liked it more than  English. It continues the same way u...
