"Truth and Beauty"
The things that Ann Patchett had to deal with shouldn't have been easy, not everyone would have defended their work the same way she did.
Her book "Truth and Beauty" is not
an ordinary work, she wants to memorialize her friend with it. I think this is
one of the reasons why she defended it so strongly, another reason was that she
was defending free will, this way, everyone can decide what they want or do not want to do to improve their general knowledge and be more critical. Maybe
I couldn’t defend better my job if I was in her shoes but I admire her
determination. Also, I believe that hiding things from people to “protect them”
is never the answer, first, they have to be exposed to the information and then
they will be able to decide if the thing is good or not for them.
